About me
Rachel St-Hilaire,
DIY and interior design lover.
Graduated in interior decoration and visual presentation in 2009, life took me travelling for several years. Thanks to these journeys, I was inspired and absorbed by the different scenery that I had the opportunity to admire. I have always been drawn to the beauty of patterns, colours and materials for creating beautiful spaces and designs. In 2019, I decided to validate and update my knowledge with the Institute of Interior Design.
When I had my first pregnancy in 2014, my husband, Rylan and I started collecting used furniture to give them a second life. Gradually we started making furniture and paintings out of wooden boards, from recycled pallet wood. Who created WoodAddiction, the company that with time is evolving with us.
When spaces come alive, it just feels magical to me. The design allows me to help, find solutions and improve the everyday life of people by creating pleasant and functional environments in which you feel at home.
In the summer of 2022, we moved from Québec City to Gabriola Island, where Rylan was raised. This island is an ideal place to be inspired, connected with nature and surrounded by amazing artists. Rylan is now a carpenter and together we want to renovate and create along bringing up our 3 beautiful boys.
I have a crush for DIY and eclectic space. I adore the bohemian style and everything warm and cozy. Every style is beautiful in its own way, from minimalist to Scandinavian and modern. Interior design is for me an art form that is unlimited and reflects everyone's personality.
